With these words, Chris Jarvis, CEO at Realized Worth invites you to explore the power of employee volunteering, highlighting the role that companies can play as gatekeepers of the employee volunteer experience, empowering global workforces to tackle some of our biggest social and economic challenges.
In Part 1, the course provides you with a theoretical framework, focusing on how to mobilize volunteers’ empathy so that volunteering moves from the transactional to the transformative. In Part 2, the course offers practical guidance on setting up programs and running volunteer events.

Angela Parker is the Co-founder and President of Realized Worth. Realized Worth is a global consultancy that designs and implements employee volunteer programs with clients such as Apple, Deloitte, Microsoft, Abbott Labs, At&t, McDonald’s, AstraZenenca, and others. Prior to launching Realized Worth, Angela managed long-term volunteers at non-profit organizations, worked with at-risk youth and children, led groups in disaster relief efforts, and worked alongside CSR practitioners. With an additional backgrounds in communications and business, Angela writes for various publications on the topics of employee engagement, organizational behavior, and entreprenuership.
Her article, “A Call for Volunteers” can be found in the September 2011 issue of Communications World, the International Association of Business Communicators magazine. Angela and her co-founder, Chris Jarvis, were also privileged to write a chapter for the book “CSR for HR” authored by Elaine Cohen. In May 2015, another chapter co-written by Angela and Chris entitled "Partnering with Workplace Volunteer Programs" was published in Robert Rosenthal's book, Volunteer Engagement 2.0. Chris Jarvis is the co-founder and CEO of Realized Worth, a is a global consultancy that focuses on engaging employees in corporate citizenship through volunteering and giving.
Widely known for his thought-leadership in employee volunteering, workplace giving and corporate social responsibility, Chris was asked by the United Nations Office of Partnerships to design and launch the first private sector led initiative to achieve the post-millennial Sustainable Development Goals through corporate volunteering. Chris serves on the Executive Committee as well as acting as the Senior Content Advisor to IMPACT 2030, the only business led effort designed to unite companies in their corporate volunteering efforts to address the United Nations’ Development Agenda. Chris and his partner, Angela Parker, were invited by the United Nations Office of Partnerships to develop the framework for this global initiative in 2011.
Prior to co-founding Realized Worth, Chris spent more than two decades working with non-profits ranging from urban centers in North America to informal settlements in Kenya. These various experiences, including a significant moment of epiphany in Toronto, planted the seed that would eventually grow into the idea that became what Realized Worth is today.
