The courses are SAP Data Intelligence for Data Scientists – An Introduction and The Power of Experience Management.

SAP Data Intelligence for Data Scientists – An Introduction

In this course, you’ll learn about SAP Data Intelligence, SAP’s new AI/data science service for managing complex data landscapes, building scalable data pipelines, and provisioning the entire data science process. You’ll learn how it works with languages such as Python and R, platforms like TensorFlow, libraries like PAL and APL, and services such as SAP Leonardo Machine Learning Foundation and technical and business services. The course starts January 29, 2020 and enrollment is now open.

The Power of Experience Management

This course describes how organizations can tap into experience management (XM) to consistently deliver breakthrough experiences. Industry visionary Bruce Temkin will explain how XM can be embedded across every facet of an organization’s operations. The training will explain what XM is, why it’s important, and outline the competencies required for success. The course starts October 16 and enrollment is now open.

Enroll Today! Learn How to Build Bots and Get an Introduction to SLES


Dear openSAP community,

We hope you’re enjoying our current courses and that you’re looking forward to some of the upcoming topics. We’ve got two new courses now open for enrollment, How to Build Bots with SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation, and Introduction to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES). Also, we’ve extended the timeframe you’ve got to complete our Digital Transformation Track.

How to Build Bots with SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation
The course will provide a solution overview and step-by-step tutorials on how to create a bot, from initial application declaration to workflow design, deployment, and how to design user interface elements and make bots run in attended and unattended modes. After completing this course, you’ll be able to create your own bots in the Desktop Studio, know how to configure and monitor them with the Cloud Factory, and understand how to make them run as digital workers or digital assistants. The course starts November 12 and enrollment is now open.

Don’t forget the introductory course, SAP Intelligent Robotic Process Automation in a Nutshell, starts next week, September 17.

Introduction to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES)
Whether you’re an SAP customer or partner, knowing how the underlying operating system works will make you better at your job. This course will provide you with an introduction to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES). You’ll see an overview and installation of SLES, filesystem and identity, software and network management, and storage administration and shells. The course starts October 15 and enrollment is now open.

Digital Transformation Track
Our Digital Transformation Track has been running since April and over 12,000 learners have signed up to earn their Digital Transformation Certificate already. To successfully complete the track, you need to complete six previous openSAP courses on leadership in digital transformation, Internet of Things, Intelligent Enterprise, blockchain, machine learning, and information security management. You can reactivate these courses for free as part of the Digital Transformation Track. As the track is still popular with learners, we’ve extended the deadline from September 30 to November 30, so you have additional time to earn your certificate before the track closes.

To meet this demand, our course expert, Stuart Clarke, has teamed up with another colleague at SAP, Michael Jordan, to produce this new course, Introduction to Statistics for Data Science.

Introduction to Statistics for Data Science
Statistics can be a complex subject, but in this course, you’ll revisit the fundamental principles and start to appreciate how it can be used in your everyday life. This course will provide you with the knowledge to understand some of the basic statistical concepts and practices that are the foundations of data science and the way we analyze data. Throughout this course, you’ll be looking at how data can be summarized in a variety of ways to give you a descriptive overview of large data sets and their variations. The course starts October 8 and enrollment is now open.

The SAP S/4HANA Regional Implementation Group supports customers on their journey to SAP S/4HANA with their focus on customers transitioning to SAP S/4HANA who have chosen a system conversion approach. The topics in this course were selected based on the project experiences and frequently asked questions. You’ll learn about conversion tools, including readiness check, adoption of new user experience, custom code and recommendations for development, and in the final week, the course will focus on SAP Analytics. The course starts October 2 and enrollment is now open.

Today, we’re opening three courses for enrollment – Research and Development in Discrete Industries, Getting Started with SAP Business ByDesign, and Programmer avec Snap!, a French version of our popular course, Get Coding with Snap!

Research and Development in Discrete Industries

In this course, you’ll learn how you can use SAP’s Product Lifecycle Management solutions to enable integrated research and development processes across all lines of business with consistent product data. We’ll show the whole process from the design stage all the way through to handover to production and operations. You’ll discover how to identify cost drivers at an early stage and simulate costs and compare alternatives. This course will focus on discrete industries to align collaboration with all stakeholders. The course starts September 24 and enrollment is now open.

Getting Started with SAP Business ByDesign

In this latest SAP Business ByDesign course, you’ll get a high-level overview of the cloud-based ERP solution. The course offers a broad introduction to SAP Business ByDesign, including the SAP Business ByDesign architecture, as well as a system demo of a complete end-to-end process. It is aimed at partners, prospects, consultants, and business users. All the content will be available when the course opens, and it will take approximately five hours to complete. The course starts September 17 and enrollment is now open.

Programmer avec Snap! (French language only)

We’ve brought you the English and German versions of this course and now it’s time for French! In this course, you’ll get hands-on practice with Snap!, a blocks-based open source programming language. You’ll learn how to write interactive programs in Snap!, save and share projects, write your own blocks, and learn about the concepts of variables, functions, lists, and cloning, and how they work in Snap! There are ten projects to choose from and you’ll have the chance to extend and refine projects in weekly tasks. The course starts September 25 and you can enroll now.

You’ll need to analyze the sensational finding and transmit the results to her home institute for further investigation. Your computer, along with the right software, will help Ms. von Barenfeldt do this. The course starts September 17 and enrollment is now open.

To take part in these courses, you need to follow these steps:

Last week saw the start of Intelligent Decisions with SAP Analytics Cloud at openSAP and today, we’re opening enrollment for a two-week course: SAP Analytics Cloud – Authentication and Data Connectivity.

SAP Analytics Cloud – Authentication and Data Connectivity

This course will cover how to establish connectivity to both on-premise and cloud data sources, along with the available authentication options, and is aimed at administrators who are typically responsible for setting up connectivity and single sign-on between applications.

You’ll learn about authentication options for SAP Analytics Cloud and live connectivity to various on-premise applications, like SAP HANA, SAP BW, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP BusinessObjects BI Universes. The course will also cover connections to a select number of cloud data sources, additional authentication options, deployment scenarios, import data connectivity, and tips on troubleshooting connectivity issues. Creating Trustworthy and Ethical Artificial Intelligence

In this course, you’ll meet SAP experts and members of the European Union’s High-Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to discuss the creation of trustworthy and ethical AI. Whether you’ve already attended SAP TechEd 2018 in Las Vegas or you’re all set to attend in Barcelona or Bangalore, or if your schedule doesn’t allow you to attend, you’ll find some selected sessions available on openSAP from December 4 with our SAP TechEd 2018 Recap.

SAP TechEd 2018 Recap

Earlier this year, we received feedback from members of the SAP ecosystem asking for SAP TechEd sessions to be made available offline after the event. We’re working with the SAP TechEd team to deliver selected SAP TechEd 2018 sessions to you via openSAP, where you can view them online or offline on any device. SAP TechEd Recap 2018 differs from the openSAP courses you’ll find on our platform: There is no discussion forum and no transcripts, and while some select sessions have self-tests available for fun, there is no course assignment. Enrollment is now open and all the content will be available from December 4.

Digital education and coding is an important life skill in the digital economy. Making coding and programming fun for everyone is key to encouraging people to learn more and get involved. Our latest course, Get Coding with Snap! helps you get started with programming in Snap!, a block-based open source programming language. The course is aimed at beginners as well as those interested in teaching others about programming.

We have two further courses in German language, aimed at a similar target audience. Informatik für Einsteiger is based on a book by Prof. Dr. Eckart Modrow about Snap! and Calliope mini erfolgreich in der Schule einsetzen for teachers and parents.

Get Coding with Snap!

In this course, you’ll get hands-on practice with Snap!, a blocks-based open source programming language. You’ll learn how to write interactive programs in Snap!, save and share projects, write your own blocks, and learn about the concepts of variables, functions, lists, and cloning, and how they work in Snap! There are ten projects to choose from and you’ll have the chance to extend and refine projects in weekly tasks. The course starts October 9 and enrollment is now open.

Informatik für Einsteiger (German language only)

Based on his book “Informatik mit Snap!” Prof. Dr. Eckart Modrow provides a basic introduction into computer science. Illustrative examples will help you to understand fundamental concepts of computer science, such as the structure of algorithms and different approaches of software development. This course enables you to practice what you have learned using Snap!, the popular block-based programming language throughout. The material can be re-used (CC-BY 4.0 license). The course start is October 23 and enrollment is now open.

Calliope mini erfolgreich in der Schule einsetzen (German language only)

The Calliope mini is a small microcontroller that gives schoolchildren from 3rd grade a playful access to the digital world. The voluntary initiative #MitRat&Tat and the non-profit GmbH Calliope, together with experienced pedagogues and openSAP, have created this course for the use and introduction of the Calliope mini in the school. The course is aimed at teachers and educators (especially from grades 3 to 6), but also interested parents, parents’ representatives and school authorities. The material can be re-used (CC-BY 4.0 license). The course is in German, starts on October 9 and is now open for enrollment.

In this course, you’ll get an overview of the different analytics services provided by SAP Cloud Platform. You’ll also see two examples of integration services that enable you to get data from different data sources into your database. You’ll learn what SAP Analytics Cloud is, and how you can use it to build analytical dashboards and gain more insights from any kind of data, as well as additional services SAP Cloud Platform offers to get more analytical insights from your data. You’ll also learn about SAP HANA as a database on SAP Cloud Platform. The course starts June 12 and enrollment is now open.

Object-Oriented Programming in Java

This course is aimed at people interested in getting started with programming. You’ll learn the key concepts of object-oriented programming (OOP) as well as fundamental programming techniques. You’ll apply your newly acquired knowledge by implementing hands-on programming exercises in the Java programming language. Climate Change, Risks, and Challenges

In this openSAP Thought Leaders course, you’ll meet climate change experts who’ll discuss why our environment is changing, how global warming is affecting our world, and what we can do to slow it down. No matter where you are in the world, most likely you’ve been affected by or have seen the effects of climate change and global warming, for example through extreme weather conditions. Learn about the causes of climate change and how we can adapt. This course will explain this and much more. It is brought to you by WWF Germany (World Wide Fund For Nature) and the German Climate Consortium in collaboration with a group of leading German scientists from renowned research institutions. The first is SAP Leonardo Design-Led Engagements Basics, a follow-on from our nutshell course, SAP Leonardo Design-Led Engagements Demystified. The second is Basics of Design Testing (Edition Q2/2018), which previously ran in 2017 and was popular with our learners.

SAP Leonardo Design-Led Engagements Basics
This is the follow-on course from SAP Leonardo Design-Led Engagements Demystified, and provides a more detailed view of what SAP Leonardo design-led innovation actually means. With the help of a case study inspired by real customer projects, you’ll gain a basic understanding of how design thinking and doing is practiced during the different phases of an SAP Leonardo engagement. The course starts from April 10 and you’ll have five weeks to earn your Record of Achievement. Enrollment is now open.

Basics of Design Testing (Edition Q2/2018)
This course focuses on design testing, also known as user testing, usability testing, user acceptance testing, or validation. The course introduces all the steps, from planning a test through moderating it, with a special focus on asking good questions and taking proper notes. You’ll also learn how to analyze the notes you collected to iterate your designs, as well as the importance of testing your software designs with real users and implementing their feedback early in the design phase. Enrollment is now open.
