In this course you’ll learn how to develop SAP HANA calculation view models in SAP HANA Cloud. The basic concepts of the SAP HANA Cloud development environment will be covered, as well as the SAP HANA Deployment Infrastructure (HDI). You’ll get an overview of the new calculation view modeling options before diving deeper into performance topics and the various performance techniques required to get the most out of calculation view modeling. The course concludes with an in-depth focus on the background to several optimization techniques and the inner workings of calculation view performance settings, as well as providing troubleshooting tips.
By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:
- Work proficiently in the SAP HANA Cloud development environment.
- Make use of advanced features in calculation view modeling.
- Efficiently create calculation views in SAP HANA Cloud that show good performance behavior.
- Leverage several optimization techniques.
- Analyze performance issues on your own in detail and make the necessary model adjustments.

Course Requirements
- Basic experience with calculation view modeling in any modeling environment
- Ideally (but not essential) a deeper understanding of calculation view modeling and first experiences with SAP HANA Cloud.
The first two course weeks can be followed even with minimal experience in calculation view modeling, as you’ll be learning about the new options for development in SAP HANA Cloud.
Weeks 3 and 4 are targeted at learners with previous experience in calculation view modeling.
Learners without previous experience can still benefit from the content, but may need to put in more effort and supplement this with background reading.
