Course Summary

The internet is now part of our daily life and is accessible on any device. People have become used to the speed and simplicity of consumer apps, and so business users expect the same simplicity from our business software.

SAP Fiori is our new user experience (UX) for SAP software. By applying modern design principles, it completely reinvents the user experience. When combined with the power of the SAP HANA platform, the SAP Fiori UX delivers unmatched responsiveness. Personalized and role-based, the new user experience enables enterprise-wide engagement across lines of business. It provides optimal usability on multiple devices for better business interactions and ease of use.

This course will introduce you to the fundamentals and latest features of the SAP Fiori UX. You will learn about product installation, configuration, and best practices for extensibility.

There will also be a design challenge where you can submit own ideas and win extra bonus points. Stay tuned and find all of the challenge details in Week 2 of the course.

Course Requirements

• Basic understanding of business processes typically addressed in solutions like SAP ERP, SAP CRM, and SAP SCM
• Basic programming knowledge including HTML / JavaScript / SAPUI5

Development Systems

If your primary interest in taking this course is simply to familiarize yourself with the technical development-related necessities and capabilities of the SAP Fiori UX, you do not need access to a development system.

However, we realize that many of you will be interested in developing your own scenarios, based on the instructions in the course. For the purpose of this course, we will deploy an SAP appliance onto an Amazon Web Service account, which will incur a charge. Your SAP appliance is provided as a free trial. We will provide a detailed guide with instructions on how to set up an account in week 1 as a precursor to the optional exercises. There are a few restrictions for this free account, but you’ll be able to follow the course without any issues, as the instructor will use the same system as you.

Prakalp Phadnis is a principal in the SAP Global Mobility Services SWAT team, focusing on all topics related to SAP Fiori for the past 2 years. He has been working at SAP for the past 8 years.

Prakalp led the SAP Fiori Learning Room at the SAP Learning Hub and Enablement sessions for Partners, and has also been involved in SAP Fiori customer implementation projects.

Elizabeth Thorburn

Liz Thorburn is a specialist in the SAP Customer Experience Group, focusing on the SAP Fiori launchpad. She has been working at SAP for the past 9 years.

Liz has authored content for SAP Education courses, RKT materials, a CRM press release, and various SCN contributions. She is an experienced trainer for both online and onsite events.
