Course information

Course Summary

By combining enterprise data assets with new and emerging technologies, intelligent enterprises create disruptive business processes, engage talent in new ways, and deliver personalized user experiences.

Today’s modern workforce engages with systems differently; their attention is dominated by ‘mobile moments’. Mobile devices afford the opportunity to engage users in a completely new way; they serve as a primary channel for information delivery. A mobile strategy is critical, but successful execution can be deceptively difficult.

In this course, mobility experts from SAP will show you how to successfully enable intelligent mobility with SAP Cloud Platform. You’ll learn about Mobile Services and the features it provides to enable enterprise mobility. After a brief overview, you’ll create a back end with the Mobile Backend Generator, then mobilize the backend with use-case-driven development tools, including SAP Mobile Cards, the mobile development kit, and the SAP Cloud Platform SDK for Android. Through best practices, technical guidance and hands-on exercises, you'll gain the knowledge necessary to execute on a successful mobile strategy.

Development Systems

If your primary interest in taking this course is getting a technical overview of the development-related capabilities of SAP Cloud Platform Mobile Services, you don’t need access to a development system. However, we realize that many of you will be interested in experimenting with Mobile Services and developing your own app, based on the instructions in the course.
We’ll provide detailed hands-on descriptions for step-by-step guidance for you within the course so that you can do the optional exercises. As part of the exercises we will show you how to register for a free trial account for SAP BTP.

Please note: This course is in self-paced mode since October 2, 2019. Therefore the practical system exercises are not supported anymore. The discussion forum is closed and questions cannot be answered anymore by our experts.

Changes to Hands-on Systems

Dear Learners,
Some of the hands-on exercises for this openSAP course were designed to be used with SAP BTP Neo trial accounts. These accounts are no longer actively supported and as of November 2020 it is not possible to create new ones. Please note that the exercises may not work when using an SAP BTP multi-cloud trial account.
