Course Summary

In our previous courses “Gain Experience with a System Conversion to SAP S/4HANA”, “Key Technical Topics in a System Conversion to SAP S/4HANA”, and “Guide Your SAP S/4HANA Project to Success” we shared knowledge gained through project experience about how to move efficiently and successfully to SAP S/4HANA and how to benefit from the innovations coming with it.

During the past year we’ve seen many customers shift from on-premise to SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition, or start new implementations directly in the cloud – a process that comes with different preparation and execution requirements.

While SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition is an infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and partially a software as a service (SaaS) offering, it doesn’t mean that it is simply a matter of switching from on-premise, or a simple activation in the case of a new implementation. There are many aspects that need to be planned for in a timely and detailed manner to achieve a smooth transition or to start in the cloud.

This course builds on general SAP S/4HANA technical knowledge and is aimed at technical experts and architects.

The course starts with an explanation of the roles and responsibilities of SAP, partners, and customers, including advice on how communication can be planned for and done in an efficient manner.

You’ll then learn about the preparatory tasks for your project and how to migrate existing systems into the cloud. There are also specific network security considerations and tooling to be planned for around the actual SAP S/4HANA Cloud, private edition software. We include explanations about the skills and configuration requirements for SAP Fiori and provide an overview of how to build extensions both for and in the cloud.

The course concludes with recommendations for downtime optimization, go-live preparation, and important considerations when running the system.
