Course Summary

Do you want to develop and create the best HR experience? Do you want to extend existing HR solutions to bring more value? Are you looking for better ways to engage your employees? To make your manager’s life just a little easier? To create more opportunities for HR?

If so, you’re in the right place.

In this course, we’ll take you through the journey of extending SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite with SAP Cloud Platform to create robust, integrated, and delightful scenarios. We’ll start from customer requirements and take it all the way through designing, developing, and integrating your solution. We’ll demonstrate how the solution provides a holistic experience, combining a delightful UX experience, integrations, IoT, collaboration, and integration.

You’ll also get the chance to build your first extension application on top of SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite and SAP Cloud Platform and enhance it with additional capabilities. To follow all the units effectively, you should have completed the openSAP course “SAP Cloud Platform Essentials”. The course content assumes that you’re already familiar with the concepts and technologies introduced there, and that you have practical experience in developing and deploying Java and HTML5 applications on SAP Cloud Platform.

Registration, learning content, access to the required systems, and the final exam are free of charge to all participants.

  • Sign up for your free developer account, and install the necessary development tools. There are a few restrictions for this free developer account, but you’ll be able to follow the course without any problems, as the instructor will use the same system as you.

Changes to Hands-on Systems

SAP Cloud Platform has started its evolution into a true business technology platform, focusing on providing business services. The platform will provide openness and freedom of choice by partnering with hyper-scaler champions for commodity technical services. As a first step towards this strategic goal, starting July 15, 2019, SAP announced the retirement of SAP managed open-source backing services offerings – PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and RabbitMQ – from SAP Cloud Platform pricelists.
This change will affect your platform trial experience, which you might be using to complete the hands-on exercises in this course. A good trial always gives users a taste of what to expect when they go productive on the platform. With this rationale in mind, the trial or ‘dev’ plan offerings for the 4 open-source backing services will also be discontinued from new trial accounts and trial extensions created beyond July 15th. You can find out more in this blog on SAP Community.

Dear Learners,
Some of the hands-on exercises for this openSAP course were designed to be used with SAP Cloud Platform Neo trial accounts. These accounts are no longer actively supported and as of November 2020 it is not possible to create new ones. Please note that the exercises may not work when using an SAP Cloud Platform multi-cloud trial account.
